Aurea Mercado Y Adrias, PH. D. (AMYA)
AMYA Polytechnic College, Inc. is the educational subsidiary of AMYA Foundation, Inc. founded in 1987 by the late
educator and philanthropist Aurea Mercado Y Adrias, PH. D. (AMYA). It focuses its benevolence on the marginalized
and the unempowered, purposely to improve the quality of life of the targeted beneficiaries. It is run by a Board
of Trustees representing Davao City – based institutions personally chosen by Dra. AMYA to serve the Board.
With its “Empowering the Unskilled”, several projects and initiatives have been established to carry on its
purpose in the fields of agriculture, education, and culture.
AMYA Polytechnic College, Inc. has been officially opened in the year 2020 as the academic service arm of
AMYA Foundation and operates as a Non-Stock, Non-Profit Organization. It offers Senior High School programs focusing
on Academic and Technical-Vocational-Livelihood Tracks, and college programs namely: Bachelor of Science in Medical
Laboratory Science, Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology, and Bachelor of
Science in Tourism Management.
From its modest beginning, AMYA Foundation looks to grow and continue the vision and mission of Dr. Mercado
Y Adrias. AMYA Polytechnic College plays an important and integral part in the Foundation’s mission as it endeavors
to provide quality education for its community.
